Why should you choose virtual or private dog training?

You never have to travel for class

With virtual and private sessions, all of your training sessions take place in your home.

Sessions are flexible to fit your hectic schedule

You schedule sessions; therefore, your training sessions will accommodate you and your family’s busy lifestyle.

Training plans are tailored to suit your specific needs

Our trainers customize your training plan and adjust the pace to accommodate your specific needs and training goals.

Your fearful/reactive dog never needs to leave his/her safe space

It is important to realize that entering new spaces and encountering strange people and dogs can be extremely stressful for fearful and reactive dogs. Virtual and in-home training allows your dog to learn new behaviors without the stress of attending group classes. Furthermore, virtual classes have the added advantage of eliminating the stress of a stranger entering your home and invading your dog’s safe space.

Virtual classes are interactive

Our trainers have their own dogs on hand to demonstrate cues and behaviors, then give you the chance to practice with your dog.

Manage your environment to set your dog up for success

Our trainers visit your home (in person or virtually) and help you set up a management system to keep your dog from practicing unwanted behaviors while we are working with you to change behaviors.

“Ask a Trainer” Virtual Consultations

Dog training

“Ask a Trainer” consultations are 20-minute virtual sessions that give you the opportunity to consult with a trainer about a specific issue or to update a trainer on your progress.

Ask a Trainer sessions are conducted via Zoom and are available to all new and current clients. Find the answers to your questions about virtual training here.

Reactive and Fearful Dog Training

“Your dog is not giving you a hard time.
Your dog is HAVING a hard time.”

Does your dog bark and lunge at other dogs or people during walks? …. cower when greeting strangers? …. guard food or toys? …. fight with other dogs in your home? …. act out when left home alone? The vast majority of dogs that display any type of reactivity are experiencing some level of fear, frustration, anxiety, or stress – while others may simply be expressing instinctual behaviors. Regardless of the reason for the reactivity, we are here to help you and your dog work through these issues with virtual and/or in-person dog training sessions.

Our trainers have years of experience in working with reactive and fearful dogs. Furthermore, we strive to stay abreast of the latest in the science of reactivity and positive training techniques through continuing education courses and conferences.

Reactive and fearful dog training is perfect for dogs that:

  • Bark and lunge at dogs, people or moving objects
  • Bark, growl or cower when meeting strangers
  • Have separation anxiety or separation-related behaviors
  • are aggressive towards other dogs or people in your home
  • Resource guard or protective of food, toys, space, people, etc.
