Values and Mission Statement

At Crimson Hound, our mission is to:

  • Build strong, trusting relationships between dogs and their humans—relationships rooted in empathy, compassion, and clear communication.
  • Educate people on canine behavior and coach them in making meaningful, sustainable changes that encourage desirable behaviors.
  • Empower dogs to thrive by teaching them the life skills they need to succeed in a human-centered world.
  • Promote safety and harmony between children and dogs.
  • Champion the use of rewards-based, force-free training methods that protect the emotional and mental well-being of both dogs and their guardians.
  • Keep dogs in their homes, support successful adoptions, and help reduce the number of dogs surrendered to shelters and rescues.

Core Values

Equity & Inclusion

Crimson Hound is a woman-owned business that recognizes the privileges and advantages I hold. I am committed to continuous learning around the complex social issues that impact those with different lived experiences. I prioritize impact over intent and actively apply what I learn to make Crimson Hound as equitable and inclusive as possible.

Crimson Hound welcomes and values all voices. This includes individuals of all races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, physical and neurodiverse abilities, faiths, nationalities, ages, and socioeconomic backgrounds. I do not tolerate ableism, ageism, racism, sexism, homophobia, or transphobia in any form.

Financial Aid

Everyone deserves access to compassionate, rewards-based training.

  • I offer interest-free payment plans for behavior consults and training services.
  • No documentation is required—just reach out and let me know what you need. I’ll do my best to support you.

Accessibility

I strive to make my services and content accessible to a wide range of physical and neurological abilities.

  • If you have any accessibility needs, mobility differences, or accommodation requests, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
  • If something is not possible within my current structure, I’ll do everything I can to provide alternative resources or solutions.

Inclusivity

At Crimson Hound, I believe that rewards-based training should be available to all, regardless of identity or circumstance. Everyone deserves the opportunity to build a strong, respectful, and joyful relationship with their dog—backed by science and delivered with kindness.

Land Acknowledgment

I acknowledge that I live and work on the unceded territory of the Ho-Chunk Nation, and I pay my respects to their elders past and present. This acknowledgment is made in recognition of the ongoing impacts of settler colonialism and as a commitment to truth, equity, and justice.

Shelter & Rescue Support

A core part of my mission is helping shelter and rescue dogs find and stay in forever homes.

I proudly offer:

  • Free behavior assessments for shelters and rescues
  • Free or discounted consults for fosters and recent adopters
  • Active service as a board member and trainer with the Humane Alliance for Rescue Trainers (HART), providing free virtual training support to shelters and rescues nationwide.

Commitment to Growth & Ethics

I am a Fear Free Certified Professional and committed to a growth mindset. I stay current with the most up-to-date, science-backed training methods to ensure that your dog’s learning experience is low-stress, ethical, and effective.

My goal is always to use the least intrusive, minimally aversive techniques possible—free from force, pain, or intimidation.
